Visiting Santo Domingo Colonial and Modern City

Departing from your hotel in air-conditioned buses, and bilingual guide, we headed to the colonial city, where We will make a tour of the old part of the city, visiting the Cathedral of America, Columbus Park, the Puerta del Conde, the Alcazar de Colon, amber shops and cigars. Later, we will make a tour of the modern city, passing through the Plaza de la Cultura, the National Palace, continuing through the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Park, residential areas of the modern city, Paseo de los Indians heroes Center Park and the boardwalk. Clothing: Long pants for gentlemen and Skirts for ladies. Duration: 3 hours.

Visiting the Columbus Lighthouse and Aquarius

Visiting the Columbus Lighthouse, the most recent and important monument where are the remains of Christopher Columbus and a sample of several Latin American countries. Later will visit the National Aquarium, where there is a wider sample of Dominican marine life. Also we visit the park "Los Tres Ojos" with four sulfur water lakes, three of which are within a great cavern. Duration: 3 hours.

Museums Tour

We shall visit the Plaza de la Cultura, a cultural centre in the city of Santo Domingo. This plaza holds 5 Cultural Museums and an Art Gallery. Among the attractions are the Museum of the Dominican Man, History and Geography Museum, the National Theatre, and the Modern Art Gallery. Only two museums are going to be visited accompanied by a tour guide and the remaining ones are to be visited on your own free will. The duration of this visit is 3 hours.

Shopping Tour

Visiting local craft shops where you can buy amber (Dominican gem), larimar, horn, bone, tortoiseshell, etc. and other typical city centers. Duration: 3 hours.

Night Tour

After a walk to see Santo Domingo By night, in the middle of the heroes and the boardwalk, we will have dinner in a typical restaurant "El Conuco" where we can appreciate the Dominican local cuisine, specifically "Sancocho", national dish, and where we will be spectators of a typical small local show. Chavon, the so-called city of artists, an idyllic medieval city in the twentieth century, includes lunch. Duration: All day.

Santiago

Santiago de los Caballeros, second capital, is located in the Cibao Valley, in the center of the Dominican Republic, hence the name "The City Heart" Upon arrival, we will visit the "Monument of The Restoration" of the Republic, from where you can appreciate a beautiful view of the valley. City Tour plus 1 hour of shooping time of purchase on the street "The Sun". Lunch at a restaurant next to the monument. After lunch, we will visit the Center LEON, cultural center of the city, guided tour of the Hall of the Antilles and visit the small museum LEON where also we will appreciate a small craft cigar factory.

Puerto Plata

Departure to the north coast of the Dominica Republic, the Atlantic. Stop at the monument of Santiago de Caballeros: Second important city of the country. Tour of the city of Puerto Plata, visit the San Felipe Fort, the Amber Museum, resorts in the area, and the cable car, located on Isabel Torres mountain. Lunch included.



Romana Trip

Departing from comfortable buses at 9:00 a.m., we shall enjoy the panorama along the way to the Eastern side of the Island, admiring beautiful landscaping and sights while on the road via a modern highway to the town of San Pedro de Macorís, where a victorian architecture, a central park and the everyday way of living of its people can be seen (One and a half hour journey). Between San Pedro to La Romana, we will make a short stop at the Artisan’s Centre “Gina Bambú,” where an exhibit of local artisans work is held. From there, we will go directly to “Altos de Chavón,” which is known as the village of artists and was built in the 1970s by Dominican Architects who reproduced a Sixteen Century (XVI) Spanish City made of stones and located in a plateau bordered by Chavón River. This village holds a center for artists and artisans. In this wonderful place, we will be able to visit the Taino Art Museum, a museum dedicated to the Pre-Columbine Culture, an Art Gallery and a Neo greek Amphitheatre. After spending an hour of sightseeing the surroundings freely, we will go to La Romana city to visit a local cigar factory.

Saona Island

Catamaran depart from Bayahibe beach at La Romana, make a tour along the coast of the East National Park, impressive water colors and vegetation, stop at a natural pool, we skirt the mangrove reserve until to the island, where you enjoy a good swim. After a buffet is served in the beach area, and have time for entertainment or just a swim. It includes local drinks such as rum, unlimited sodas and water at the beach during the tour. Return by boat with a stop and swim in the natural pool.

Cave of Wonders

This tour starts with a visit to the Cave of Wonders, the first Museum of Natural Rupestrian Art in the Antilles and of great archaeological value, which is the most innovative tourist destination in the Dominican Republic, where an ample quantity of Stalagmites, Stalactites and Rupestrian Paintings are observed. The departure time is 9:00 a.m., traveling for 1 ½ hours by bus to the Eastern area of the Island to visit the described destination, accompanied by a bilingual tour guide. After this visit, we will go to the town “SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS” to be able to admire its beautiful victorian architecture and visit a local rum factory. On our way back to Santo Domingo, we will stop for one hour at the beautiful Beach of Boca Chica to enjoy an relaxing bath on its warm waters, foregoing a visit to a local artisans’ center. People with disabilities can not participate in this tour.

Catalina Island

Catalina Island, also called Ikiita Island (also called by the local Indians as Toeya) is an island located in the Caribbean Sea just a few kilometers southeast of the island near the Spanish provinces of La Romana and La Altagracia (to which it belongs) which is part of the Dominican Republic. Visit the island by boat, catamaran, departing from La Romana, on the east coast. Swimming all day on the beach of white sand, open bar and lunch included.

Enriquillo Lake

Excursion to the south, near the Dominican-Haitian border. Going through the different villages around the lake. The stop at the spa Barias and enjoy a refreshing swim. Visit of "The Pool" and stop at the edge of the lake (40m. Below sea level), subtropical forest, very dry and where there is a great concentration of crocodiles, pink flamingos and iguanas in danger of extinction Visit to the Dominican and Haiti frontier and lunch in the area.
